My daughter and I are both having trouble with our new crockpots overcooking/burning meat dishes. My older pot would cook 10, 12, even 14 hours without burning, which some days is the amount of time needed before returning. And with the high cost of meats the last thing I want to do is waste a large tenderloin; grrrr. Anybody else having this dliemma or have a suggestion other than spending more $$ on another model with a timer?
I think mine cooks hot too, and dries meat out unless I’m there to babysit. Right now I can’t even remember what I have, it’s oval and programmable with a timer, that’s all I can remember!!! I’lll look tonight.
Put your crockpot on a “light timer” so you can program it to turn on and off when you want! Test it to make sure it comes on when the timer starts…some crockpots are already programmable, and the light timer doesn’t work with it!
You might also just try cooking it on a lower setting! Sometimes I just cook mine all day on warm!
